Since I have an ever growing collection of tarantulas and other carnivorous inverts, I have become interesting in breeding my own feeder insects. I wold try crix but I can get them anywhere and they STINK. Can anyone give me a species of feeder roach that is easy to find and easy to care for? By easy to care for, I mean one that can breed at a fair pace at room temperatures and in the inside of a closet. I have to hide these from the mom b/c despite that I already have 6 to 7 tarantulas and two scorpions and bring home crix all the time, she won't let me bring in roaches (women, I know...). But I know this will work to my benefit. Can anyone help me out?

B. Dubia. I love them.
Because of them I will never go back to crickets.

B.Dub's for sure. holy crap, they multiply so easily and don't stink the place up like crix. i also like that they seem to hold my T's over a lot more than crix do.

B. dubia are great, but slow growing/breeding. Nauphoeta cinerea are smaller roaches, but faster growing/breeding.
Anyway, I have both and Blaberus spp. and crickets. Variety of feeders is always best.

kind regards,

Pato.
