Status: Unsuccessful
I introduced two unsexed specimens into a larger tub furnished only with a rock. One specimen was about one inch in length longer than the other.
The two centipedes ran around randomly inside the enclosure, running away from each other whenever they came into contact.
One centipede came up to the other, and 'sniffed' the space between the terminal legs of the longer one.
The longer one grabbed the smaller one with the terminal legs several times and I decided to discontinue the experiment, erring on the side of caution.
I will try again in a few weeks, month after that and again in the summer.
Pics coming soon
